L'Île d'Aix
The Pearl of the Atlantic...
During your holiday at camping La Boulinière, take a trip to the island of Aix, the smallest commune in the Charente-Maritime and only accessible by boat. This small crescent of land is 3km long and 700m wide and is listed as a remarkable natural site.
After a 20-minute boat trip, you can walk or cycle around the island to get a better idea of its natural and heritage riches. The island hides many varied and surprising treasures: forests, vineyards, beaches and sandy coves.
On the island, take advantage of the different beaches: Anse de la Croix beach, Tridoux beach, Jamblet beach, Le Saillant beach. Because of their danger, the beaches of Sables d'Or, Baby Plage and Saint Eulard are forbidden to swim.
During your trip, discover the village and its small low houses lined with hollyhocks. It is surrounded by imposing fortifications, testifying to its defensive role since the end of the 17th century.
On the island, water, sky and land blend together in perfect harmony. All landscapes are represented in an exceptional setting where nature is preserved.
The island of Aix is a 20-minute boat ride from Camping La Boulinière. You can embark from Saint-Denis-d'Oléron or Boyardville.
